Currently I have an opening for an Associate Manager, Scientific Publications and Information located in Plainsboro, NJ (Hybrid schedule). Details for the position are as follows:
Job Description:
- The Associate Manager, under the Director of SP&I, will focus on optimizing and modernizing systems, procedures, and processes within the team with the aim to improve productivity and efficiency.
- The Associate Manager will act as an internal point of contact to understand the needs of the SP&I Team, build relationships and a collaborative environment, and work with the Director to develop/implement innovative solutions addressing the needs of the business.
- The Associate Manager will maintain an understanding of technology trends in the Publications/Medical Affairs pharmaceutical industry landscape and demonstrate a strong working knowledge of digital communication and technology.
- Beyond increasing productivity and efficiency, the Associate Manager will be responsible for utilizing analytics and new technology to extend the reach and impact of the publications the SP&I Team supports.
- Participate in cross-functional project teams locally and/or globally. May act as a project leader with own manager oversight.
- Work with the SP&I team to establish system requirements, processes, and procedures; will identify platforms and preferred suppliers
- Share experience and knowledge in leveraging Client tools and technology to support the overarching goals of Medical Affairs (e.g. through collaboration with the Medical Omnichannel team)
- Analyze SP&I team metrics and create presentations for SciComms use and use with broader stakeholders
- Work with line manager to form actionable takeaways from metrics to improve team efficiencies
- Collaborate with line manager to utilize metrics to tell a business story
- Develop governance procedures under the direction of the line manager to ensure operational excellence and accountability both internally and with suppliers working on publications and copyright pieces
- Coordinate operations of relevant suppliers/vendors, database management, digital operations, reporting, and management of technology infrastructure and capability solutions. Work with the line manager to develop a roadmap for identifying and integrating solutions to leverage emerging channels, compliance and information integrity, governance, and streamlining and standardizing operating processes
- Demonstrates understanding of publications, literature search and gap analyses, and copyright language in publications
- Identify opportunities to enhance projects and initiatives and make in recommendations to improve processes and optimize future endeavors. Extend these lessons learned, when appropriate, to the broader SciComms organization
- Identify and resolve problems related to SP&I projects, processes, or tasks, with management support as needed.
- Work with line manager to identify key metrics and evaluate impact of digital and automation initiatives used within SP&I.
- Master’s degree, PhD, PharmD, or additional advanced degrees with 1+ year of experience in Medical Affairs, Scientific Communication, or Publications.
- Experience in publication management systems and language preferred (such as iEnvision, Datavision, Copyright, congress submission platforms).
- Excellent collaboration skills required to coordinate activities with internal and external stakeholders.
Technical Information:
- 6-month contract with an intent to extend based on business priorities
- Pay: $35-39 hourly, depending on experience level
- Hybrid Schedule: Onsite 3 days per week
