Breads Bakery is seeking enthusiastic, dynamic individuals who are passionate about exceptional coffee, baking, and hospitality to join our team at our new kiosk location in Brooklyn Bridge Park, opening soon.

Responsibilities & Expectations:

• Recognize the importance of providing extraordinary hospitality and exemplify this in interactions with guests, vendors, and coworkers alike.
• Commit to creating consistent, high quality baked goods, coffee, espresso, and tea drinks following the appropriate preparation methods as instructed- communicating to your superiors when there are concerns that these expectations are not met.
• Assist team in all aspects of production including but not limited to proofing, baking off products, assembling of products, execution of daily mise en place, and so on.
• Assist in all fundamental levels of the guest experience from answering product questions to point of sale. Develop and strengthen relationships with our guests and community through genuine hospitality and personable service.
• Ensure proper inventory and quality are maintained- recognizing that every day presents varying needs and adjusting workflow to meet these needs.
• Ability to work independently as needed and to communicate with the necessary individuals to ensure daily operations are running smoothly, requests for information and/or tasks are completed punctually and any feedback, ideas for improvement, concerns and/or items of note are shared proactively.
• Assist with administrative tasks, client communication, event coordination, and related responsibilities as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing space in accordance with operations and sanitation guidelines.
• Follow tasks as instructed by direct managers and shift supervisors, ensuring responsibilities are met and, when possible, exceeded.
• Assist at other Breads Bakery locations as needed; ability to adjust and adapt gracefully to unexpected changes.
• Govern service recovery as needed with professionalism and sincerity.
• Foster a positive work environment and commitment to Breads Bakery’s values.

Skills & Requirements:

• Professional experience in hospitality or relevant roles.
• Commitment to providing exceptional service and genuine experiences.
• Ability to anticipate guests’ needs and maintain attentiveness to the moving parts and interactions through each day.
• Remarkable communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving aptitude, and ability to multitask.
• Ability to work holidays and weekends.
• Ability to work on your feet for a full shift and lift 50+ lbs during the shift.
• Previous barista and/or bartending experience is advantageous.
• NYC Food Handlers Certification required- anticipated receipt of card acceptable. If an applicant does not have their certification or the anticipated receipt of their certification, the applicant must agree to obtain certification within the first three months of employment if hired.

Compensation & Benefits:

•   Final starting pay rate is $18/hour plus gratuities (~$6-12/hour) with the following structure:

$16.50/hour base rate
Included in gratuity distribution after successful completion of bread sales training (5 shifts)
+$0.50/hour after receiving NYC Food Handlers Certification
+$0.50/hour after passing barista exam
+$0.50/hour after successful completion of baking training
