JOB OVERVIEW:

• Job Title: Cardiologist.
• Job Type: Locum Tenens.
• Location: Charleston, WV.
• Service Setting: Inpatient.
• Coverage Type: Clinical Only.
• Coverage Period: 11/10/2025 – Open (1-year preferred commitment)
• Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7a–3p or 8a–4p; 7on/7off option available.

COVERAGE DATES:

• Start Date: 11/10/2025 (or as soon as credentialed).
• Contract Length: 1 year preferred.

PATIENT INFORMATION:

• Patient Demographics: Adult inpatient population.
• Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 10 patients per day.
• Admissions: Consults only, no admissions or follow-ups.
• Rounding: Floor work only (no ICU coverage).
• Phone Consults: Yes, as required for inpatient coordination.
• Case Mix: Cardiology consults and general inpatient cardiology management.

FACILITY INFORMATION:

• Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital.
• Hospital Bed Size: 1,078 beds.
• Trauma Level: Adult Level IV.
• EMR System: Cerner.
• Specialty Backup Available: Multidisciplinary hospital support.
• Support Staff Available: Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
• Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage (Consultation Services).

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE:

• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes.
• Temporary Privileges Available: Yes (pre-application required before final approval).
• Credentialing Timeline: 60 days.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Licenses: Active West Virginia medical license required; IMLC accepted.
• Board: Board Certified in Cardiology (required).
• DEA: Active DEA registration required.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required.
• Experience: Minimum prior hospitalist or cardiology consultative experience preferred.
• Other Qualifications:
• Must have a clean background.
• Completion of pre-application required immediately upon offer (for license and background verification).
• Comfort with Cerner EMR and inpatient cardiology workflow.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide inpatient cardiology consultation and management at CAMC Memorial Hospital.
• Conduct and interpret cardiograms and nuclear stress tests.
• Perform general cardiology floor work (no ICU coverage or follow-ups).
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers (NPs/PAs) and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in daily consult rounds and coordinate with referring services.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and clinical documentation standards.
• Deliver patient-centered care with efficiency and clinical precision.
