Summary:
These operators are setting up and operating the CNC machines proficiently and editing a CNC program for proper function.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Interpret advance engineering drawings, understanding design requirement including datums, critical dimensions and tolerances.
Sets up CNC machining and / or turning centers to achieve required specifications.
Effectively program, setup, & operate multiple CNC machines producing high quality parts.
Monitor parts to ensure adherence to drawings and within tolerances.
Shape, sharpen, set cutter & adjust tools to achieve desired print tolerance.
Knowledge & ability to setup bore gauges & other measuring equipment.
Complete all required paperwork, including labor reporting & documentation of quality control & material movement.
Continually on the move, prepping / moving heavy parts.
Being a reliable and punctual team member.
Basic Qualifications:
Advanced blueprint reading, mathematical and technical skills.
Ability to use standard tooling such as, micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.
Basic knowledge of boring bars, drills and other required tooling used to run a CNC machine.
Frequent lifting / carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Lifting devices are available and recommended.
Preferred Qualifications:
1 year experience beneficial.
Ability to read blueprints, understanding tolerances.
Basic knowledge of different material types is beneficial.
HS diploma or GED.
