Position: Pharmacist -Oncology

Start Date: 9/29/2025

Duration: 13 weeks to 9 months! A longer assignment is preferred.

Location: Pittsfield, MA, 01201

Shift Notes: Monday-Friday 7a-3:30p and/or 8am and/or 8:30a-5p. Must be available for any/all shifts as needed 40hr gt

Weekend Requirements: None/ Holiday Rotation required

On-Call Requirements: No Call

The Staff Pharmacist in Oncology is responsible for providing patient-centered care in a multidisciplinary practice setting with pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and other personnel.

Services provided include (but are not limited to):

• Assessing patient therapy for appropriateness, incorporating age-specific modifications, and clinical interventions to prevent adverse drug events.
• They will also conduct clinical research and other professional development programs.
• He/she will serve as a liaison to other departments at the Cancer and Infusion Center by providing operational support and educational services for new treatment regimens.
• The Staff Pharmacist in Oncology demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the regulations governing the preparation of intravenous admixtures, chemotherapy, and other sterile products and supervises Pharmacy technicians and other support personnel.
• Provides oversight and participates in maintaining and storing an adequate inventory of all medication required for the practice.
• Develop and update department and nursing policies.
• Work with the Oncology team to standardize ordering procedures for chemotherapeutic medications.

Submission Requirements

• 5+years of extensive acute care clinical experience
• Ability to mix compounds REQUIRED
• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) required
• Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology is STRONGLY preferred.
• Board Certification Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) Certification is required and is STRONGLY preferred
• Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, without direct supervision, within established policy.
• Applicant must be capable of supervising the work of support personnel.
• Specialty Pharmacy medication management
• Traveler must have their vehicle for this need

• Pharmacy-automated medication dispensing systems
• Vertical and horizontal laminar airflow hoods
• Ancillary IV room equipment and programs; infusion pumps, Dose Edge, Simplify797
• Ancillary equipment necessary for performing day-to-day tasks (syringe, needle, graduate, calculator)
• Vocera Badge
• Fax machine

Profile Requirements:

• Work History
• Skills Checklist (pertinent to position), current to 1 year
• 1 Supervisory Signed Reference (from within the past two years of employment)
• License/Certifications - Must be uploaded with profile

Certification Requirements

• BLS (AHA)

State License Requirements

• Massachusetts

Additional License Requirements

• MA license must be in hand upon submission
