ChristianaCare will not sponsor applicants for this position for an employment visa now or in the future.The ChristianaCare Medical Laboratory located on the Newark campus, is currently recruiting for a Medical Laboratory Scientist with experience in Molecular Diagnostics to perform genetic testing and associated activities to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patientsWe have two (2) Day shift positions available. The work schedules are: 8:00am - 4:30pm and 10:30am - 7:00pm. (Every third weekend and two to three holidays per year required.) Responsibilities:Performs all test procedures accurately as listed in the Molecular Diagnostic procedure manual.Verifies specimen identification, processes order, adheres to established turnaround times, documents call, and verifies critical values.Follows established quality control procedures, documenting corrective action as necessary.Performs and records all scheduled instrument preventive maintenance procedures. Performs basic troubleshooting and calls appropriate hotlines, and documents.Follows all CCHS and laboratory safety policies. Reviews laboratory safety manual annually.Cooperates with supervisors and co-workers and maintains a good rapport with other departments. Presents a professional, well-groomed appearance always. Answers the telephone courteously and promptly.Requirements:BS in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science required or BS in Biology or Biochemistry with 1-2 years of Experience with Molecular techniques such as PCR or sequencing required.
