Job Title: Industrial Diesel Generator Sales Representative Overview: We’re seeking an experienced and motivated
Industrial Diesel Generator Sales Representative to join a dynamic team selling new diesel-powered generators from major OEMs such as Caterpillar, Cummins, Kohler, Generac, MTU, and more. This is a hybrid role involving both office-based work and field sales activity, focused on identifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities with new and existing customers in the industrial power generation market.
Key Responsibilities: - Sell new industrial diesel generators ranging from 20kW to 2MW and beyond to commercial, industrial, municipal, and institutional clients.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, engineers, facility managers, and procurement teams.
- Prospect new clients through outbound outreach, site visits, networking, and referrals.
- Generate proposals and present tailored power solutions to meet customer needs.
- Negotiate contracts and manage the full sales cycle from lead to close.
- Collaborate with internal engineering and operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from sale to project execution.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the diesel power generation market, including competitive offerings and industry trends.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and client meetings as needed.
Requirements: - 2+ years of experience in power generation sales, preferably with diesel generator sets.
- Familiarity with major generator OEMs such as CAT, Cummins, Generac, Kohler, or similar.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and power system specs.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a hybrid office/field environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
Compensation & Benefits: - Base salary: $70,000–$90,000 (depending on experience)
- Commission structure with strong earning potential — top performers can earn well into six figures
