The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND .

Your Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Student - Business & Data Analyst for John Deere in Ames, IA, you will:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across John Deere Financial and Global IT
• Use tools like Power BI and Power Automate to build dashboards, automate workflows, and visualize performance metrics.
• Support data aggregation and visualization efforts to help the team uncover trends and drive strategic decisions
• Communicate findings clearly and effectively to stakeholders across the organization
• Partner with Engineers to understand business needs and implement technological solutions

This position is not available to students on immigration visas. 

What Skills You Need

• Pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, MIS, Business, others may apply
• Interest in data visualization, process improvement, and automation tools.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Power Automate, or similar platforms (coursework or personal projects welcome).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be registered as a full-time student at Iowa State University
• Graduation date of December 2026 or later
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
• Available to work 16-20 hours per week during the academic year
• Available to work 30-40 hours per week during the summer
• Must be able to commute to work at the ISU Research Park (available on the bus route)
• Strong analytical, communication and intrapersonal skills 

What Makes You Stand Out

• Data analytics experience (Python, R, SQL, Tableau/Power BI)
• Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) and/or Artificial Intelligence (AI)

$15 - $40 hourly based on published rates for business function and education level.
