Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

Responsibilities

Works in an entry-level position providing basic patient care under nursing supervision.
Assists patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered nurses.
Obtains and recorded patients' vital signs and collected specimens for lab tests.
Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED Equivalency
Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 30 days of hire.
Enrolled in final year of nursing program or PCT will be trained and required to show competence in these skills while on the unit.
New hires will have 90 days to get these skills checked off.

Preferred Job Requirements:

Certification as a PCT (Certified Care Technician) or CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant)
Demonstrated competency in Phlebotomy
