Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Position Location: Bismarck, ND Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12s Nights Pay: $2068.20/week Completion Bonus: Up to $7,500 total. (You will receive $2,500 after the successful completion of each of your first 3 contracts with us) Job Description: We are seeking a patient-centered and resilient Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) to provide acute, inpatient care for both adult and adolescent patient populations. This specialized role requires strong communication and de-escalation skills to manage various behavioral and personality disorders, substance abuse, psychosis, depression, and anxiety. The successful candidate must be highly involved in direct patient care, acting as a "doer" by participating actively in rounds and therapeutic interventions. This unit is the only child/adolescent inpatient unit in the region, offering a unique opportunity to work across the lifespan. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care and medication management for assigned patients.
• Actively engage in therapeutic interventions, including assisting with 15-minute rounds.
• Utilize strong de-escalation and therapeutic communication skills to manage behaviors and crises effectively.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (OT, Social Work, Techs) to implement care plans.
• Respond to and manage codes (Code Blue) and safety situations, utilizing in-house RT for oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP needs.
• Must be willing to float throughout the hospital as extra helping hands or to provide 1:1 patient observation.

Qualifications:

• RN License in North Dakota. BSN not required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support), CHI Health Workplace Violence Prevention.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) preferred.
• Acute/inpatient or state hospital experience.
• COVID vaccine and recent TB test may be required.
