Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Assistant Chief Counsel, the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I) serves as the supervisor of the Public Records Act (PRA) Oversight Unit in the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), Office of the Director - Legal Unit (OD Legal). The SSM I oversees a central oversight unit within the Department responsible for PRA requests.

The incumbent works closely with the Assistant Chief Counsel and Chief Counsel in preparing and responding to sensitive PRA requests. Assist with drafting and preparing notices regarding records and issues. Communicate with requestors or necessary parties to coordinate timely responses with required notices under PRA law to notify individuals of status of request within timeframe established by State law.

Working Conditions

The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an air-conditioned office setting with natural and artificial lighting. Typical work requires remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time using a computer, internet, telephone, and interaction with coworkers and stakeholders.

This position offers opportunities for a hybrid telework schedule.

Special Requirements
