This Registered Nurse (RN) position focuses on providing skilled nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients. The RN will perform patient assessments, administer medications, participate in treatment planning, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, as well as various medical procedures, is required. The role involves working within established patient ratios and floating between similar units as needed.

Responsibilities:
- Performing comprehensive patient assessments.
- Administering medications and treatments.
- Developing and implementing patient care plans.
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Monitoring patient vital signs and documenting findings.
- Interpreting and managing dysrhythmias.
- Utilizing rapid response teams.
- Managing peripheral lines and other medical devices (nasal cannula, oxygen masks, etc.).
- Implementing isolation precautions.
- Performing and documenting patient care in Epic.
- Participating in patient education and discharge planning.
- Floating to similar units as needed.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Minimum of one year of experience in medical-surgical nursing.
- BLS certification.
- Proficiency in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias.
- Skill in managing peripheral lines and other medical devices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
- Two or more years of medical-surgical nursing experience.
- Experience in telemetry.
Special Considerations:
- Patient ratios vary by shift and unit (5:1-10:1).
- Patient population includes those with conditions such as colon cancer, intestinal obstructions, breast cancer, morbid obesity, cholecystitis, and appendicitis.
- PCTs assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and ADLs.
- In-house phlebotomy team handles peripheral lab draws; RNs manage PICC and central lines.
- Floating between medical-surgical and telemetry units is required.
- Weekend work is required every other weekend (EOW).
- No on-call requirements.
- No local radius rule; travel nurses are accepted.
- No pending licenses accepted.
- Maximum of one week of remote work allowed per contract.
Scheduling:
- Day and evening shifts are available.
- Specific shift assignments and scheduling will be determined by the facility.
- The facility will attempt to accommodate block scheduling requests, but this is not guaranteed.
