Location:Will rotate between HOD in Cape Coral and N. Fort Myers

Department:LPGPharmacy Services

Work Type:Full Time

Shift:1 / 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM / No Weekends or Holidays

Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$17.84 - $23.19 / hour

Summary

Registered Pharmacy Technician II HOD

Registered Pharmacy Technician IIprovides advanced technician support to physicians and nurse practitioners. The primary responsibility will be to coordinate and access medication assistance programs for established patients of Lee Health Primary Care (HOD) offices who are unable to pay for medication expenses, through available pharmaceutical company programs.

Assist patients with completing, submitting, and following up on patient assistance applications.

Process patient assistance refill requests and assist clinical staff with in-basket refills.

Log and monitor medications received from assistance programs.

Notify patients when medications are ready for pickup if delivered to office.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to patient assistance applications.

Explain the patient assistance process to patients.

Help patients locate affordable or discounted prescription medications at retail (upon request).

Scan/import faxes or mail related to assistance medications into EPIC.

Answer incoming phone calls.

Support clinical staff with medication prior authorization initiation.

Order and manage sample and in-office vaccine/medication inventory.

Requirements

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

Two years of Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.

Two years of hospital pharmacy experience required.

License:

Registered Pharmacy Technician with Florida Department of Health required.

Additional Requirements

Certification:

CphT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) with national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required. Registered Pharmacy Technician with Florida Department of Health required.

ExCPT certification may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Other:

Data entry and knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology. Ability to cope with

confrontation.
