Position Overview:
Our client, a leading engineering firm, is currently seeking an experienced Senior Associate - Water/Wastewater to join their dynamic team across several Virginia offices, including Fairfax, Richmond, Virginia Beach, and Newport News. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of impactful water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
As a Senior Associate, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage technical tasks while coordinating project teams. You will also serve as the project design lead when appropriate, as well as contribute to the preparation of technical proposals and approaches for new projects. Your experience will be essential in ensuring the successful delivery of projects, from planning and design to execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage, plan, and oversee the design of water and wastewater projects.
Lead and coordinate design efforts across multiple offices in Tidewater Virginia.
Pursue and prepare proposals, presentations, and technical approaches for new projects.
Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
Provide oversight during the construction phase, including pre-bid conferences, evaluations, and contract preparation.
Participate in pre-project presentations and interviews, managing project planning from procurement to execution.
Mentor and train junior engineering staff, fostering a collaborative and learning environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
15+ years of progressive experience in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater systems, including facilities, transmission systems, storage tanks, pumping stations, force mains, and sanitary sewer systems.
Construction phase experience is preferred.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Virginia, or ability to obtain through comity within 6 months.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
