We are seeking a seasoned Senior Okta Engineer / Solutions Architect with expert-level knowledge of Okta and a strong track record delivering IAM solutions in large, complex enterprise environments. This role will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our identity ecosystem, ensuring secure, scalable, and seamless access across the organization.

This is a 3-6 month contract to start, and if all goes well, we anticipate this project turning into a multi-year engagement with one of our top clients.  You'll work 100% remote from anywhere in the US (must be comfortable working East Coast hours).  

Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement enterprise IAM solutions using Okta Workforce Identity Cloud (SSO, MFA, Lifecycle Management, API Access Management).
• Design scalable identity architectures supporting hybrid cloud, multi-domain, and global environments.
• Integrate Okta with SaaS, on-prem, and custom applications using SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and SCIM.
• Build automated provisioning/deprovisioning workflows and identity lifecycle processes.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain authentication flows, policies, and integrations.
• Serve as the SME for Okta and modern IAM practices, partnering with security, infrastructure, and application teams.

Requirements:

• 7+ years IAM experience, including 4+ years hands-on with Okta at an enterprise scale.
• Deep expertise in Okta configuration, architecture, automation, and advanced policy design.
• Strong understanding of identity protocols (SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SCIM).
• Experience implementing IAM in large, complex, or global organizations.
• Proficiency with automation (Python, PowerShell), APIs, and IaC (Terraform preferred).
• Strong grasp of Zero Trust, RBAC/ABAC, and modern security frameworks.

Preferred

• Okta certifications (Professional, Administrator, Consultant, Architect).
• Experience with IGA tools (SailPoint, Saviynt) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
