GARNEY CONSTRUCTION

We are seeking a Senior Pursuit Specialist to join our growing Marketing team in McKinney, TX. This newly created role will be instrumental in supporting our strategic work acquisition efforts by leading pursuit planning, proposals, statements of qualifications (SOQs), and interview preparation. The Senior Pursuit Specialist partners closely with Profit Center Officers, Operations, and Business Development teams to produce high-quality, client-focused deliverables that advance Garney’s position in the water and wastewater industry. The ideal candidate brings strong pursuit strategy experience, leadership in proposal development, and a passion for storytelling that connects client needs to Garney’s solutions.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Lead and manage the full lifecycle of pursuit efforts, including capture planning, proposal development, and interview coordination.
• Develop, write, and edit persuasive content tailored to client goals and project requirements.
• Facilitate pursuit meetings (kick-offs, draft reviews, debriefs) to ensure alignment and quality.
• Leverage CRM data (Unanet by Cosential) to create project resumes, maintain pursuit records, and generate reports.
• Develop and update branded marketing materials including brochures, project sheets, and pursuit collateral.
• Mentor Marketing Coordinators and Specialists, sharing best practices and supporting professional development.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in A/E/C marketing, with a focus on pursuit strategy and proposal development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to craft compelling narratives.
• Expertise in Adobe InDesign and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Exceptional organization, time management, and attention to detail.
• Ability to coordinate multiple pursuits under tight deadlines while maintaining quality and consistency.

Preferred:

• Experience with water/wastewater or infrastructure pursuits and collaborative delivery methods (CMAR, Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build).
• Familiarity with Unanet CRM and Canto Digital Asset Management systems.
• Experience mentoring team members and leading collaborative proposal efforts.
