The Facilities Management Department is seeking a Technical Coordinator with a strategic focus on asset performance and operational excellence to support the future of San Diego International Airport. With the opening of the transformative NewT1 on the horizon, this role plays a critical part in bridging the gap between data and field operations—translating insights from maintenance management systems into smarter, more efficient infrastructure management.
This is a hands-on, high-impact opportunity for a professional who thrives at the intersection of technology and operations. The Technical Coordinator collaborates closely with trades staff, contractors, and project teams to respond to real-time facilities needs, review construction impacts, and drive continuous improvement in maintenance strategies. The role is instrumental in ensuring assets are maintained, tracked, and optimized for long-term reliability, safety, and efficiency—keeping the airport environment dynamic, resilient, and future-ready.

This role requires regular driving as a critical part of performing work-related duties, specifically involving the operation of Airport Authority vehicles. A valid California driver’s license is required, along with strict adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Compliance with Airport Authority vehicle use policies, including safety protocols and reporting requirements, is mandatory. Applicants must acknowledge that driving Airport Authority vehicles is an essential function of this role.
