Employee Relations Officer I Location Ogden, UT : Schedule: Mon - Fri Flex Overview: The primary purpose of the Employee Relations Officer I position is to handle employee relations activities for the organization. This individual will also perform duties and functions that are considered “auxiliary” in service of that primary purpose. Responsibilities:
- Act as an intermediary between employees and managers
- Use, review, update and administer HR policies, procedures and processes, regularly
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and organization policies.
- Collaborate and foster positive working relationships, including functioning in a coaching role, with Senior Management, branch/department managers and team members across the organization.
- Be responsible for monitoring exit surveys of terminated employees, conducting investigations into concerns, and escalating concerns to additional organization leaders, as necessary.
- Track and analyze data associated with employment-related concerns to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Serve as a resource and escalation point for managers and team members when employment-related concerns arise.
- Conduct investigations precipitated by submissions to the Ethics Connection Hotline
- Investigate allegations of employee/employer misconduct and recommend resolutions. Communicate corrective action and termination decisions on behalf of the Employee Relations department and/or the organization.
- Be proactive in finding solutions and preventing foreseeable problems to human resources-related issues in the organization.
- Communicate with credit union attorneys regarding employment issues.
- Assist in administering Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) & Affirmative Action programs
- Process unemployment claims and work with the respective state agencies which oversee unemployment claims.
- Represent the organization in unemployment hearings.
- Train HR-related content for leadership
Qualifications: Education/Certification: - Bachelor's degree in human resources or equivalent management and/or employee relations experience preferred.
Requirements/Knowledge: - Strong understanding of employment-related laws and regulations preferred.
- Strong understanding of organization policies and procedures related to HR preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures preferred.

Experience: - Credit union experience in human resources or management preferred.

- Supervisory experience, a plus.
