Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Position Location: Des Moines, IA Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12s Nights Pay: $2259/week Job Description: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric RN to provide specialized care to patients with mental health and behavioral conditions. In this role, you will assess, plan, and implement care strategies while working closely with an interdisciplinary team to support patient safety, stabilization, and recovery. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, calm under pressure, and experienced in mental health care settings. Key Responsibilities: * Provide direct nursing care to patients with psychiatric and behavioral health needs. * Conduct assessments, monitor patient status, and administer medications as prescribed. * Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to develop individualized care plans. * Support crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies when needed. * Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and coping strategies. * Ensure all documentation meets legal, regulatory, and facility standards.
