We are looking for a compassionate and experienced senior caregiver to provide in-home care for our 75-year-old grandmother, who has Alzheimer's disease and type 2 diabetes. The ideal candidate should be patient, caring, and capable of providing essential daily care, ensuring her safety and well-being while maintaining a positive and engaging environment. Responsibilities: 1. Medication Management: * Administer prescribed medications on time. * Monitor for any side effects or changes in health. * Maintain an accurate medication schedule. 2. Personal Care: * Assist with bathing, dressing, and grooming. * Ensure proper hygiene and comfort throughout the day. * Change diapers four times a day to prevent discomfort and maintain cleanliness. 3. Meal Preparation and Dietary Management: * Prepare nutritious meals that align with her dietary needs, especially considering her diabetes. * Strictly avoid sugary foods and carefully monitor her diet. * Encourage proper hydration and balanced nutrition. 4. Housekeeping Duties: * Perform light cleaning tasks, such as dusting, sweeping, and laundry. * Maintain an organized and clean living space. * Assist with grocery shopping and meal planning when necessary. 5. Companionship and Emotional Support: * Engage in meaningful conversation to provide companionship. * Participate in simple activities to keep her mentally and emotionally stimulated. * Offer reassurance and support to reduce anxiety related to Alzheimer's. 6. Emergency Preparedness: * Be alert and ready to provide immediate assistance if needed. * Recognize early signs of health complications such as diabetic emergencies or confusion. 7. Mobility Assistance: * Help with walking, getting in and out of bed, and other mobility tasks. * Encourage gentle physical activities when appropriate. 8. Medical Appointments: * Accompany her to doctor's visits if required. * Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and family members regarding her condition. Requirements: * Experience: Prior experience in caregiving, particularly with Alzheimer's and diabetes patients, is preferred. * Skills: * Understanding of diabetes management and meal planning. * Strong communication and patience when working with elderly individuals. * Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification preferred. * Personality Traits: Compassionate, patient, and responsible. * Availability: Flexible to work on a part-time basis, including weekends if needed. * Other Requirements: * Must be physically capable of assisting with mobility and hygiene tasks. * Reliable and punctual with strong attention to detail.
